This Discovery Channel Gold Rush News website is strictly for fans of Bering Sea Gold, Gold Rush, Dave Turin’s Lost Mine, Freddy Dodge’s Mine Rescue, Parker’s Trail, Gold Rush the Dirt, Gold Rush White Water and Hoffman Family Gold. Sorry, but we’re not into sharks, moonshine, street outlaws, or naked survival. We’re just here for the gold.
So if you can’t get enough of Parker Schnabel, Tony and the Beets family, Fred and Dustin Hurt, Emily and Steve Reidel, Shawn “Mr. Gold” Pomrenke, and maybe even those entertaining Kelly boys, and if you have gold fever and want to follow the American dream of striking it rich by becoming a gold miner, then you have come to the right place. We might even sneak in some tidbits about Aussie Gold Hunters, because Parker’s friend Tyler Mahoney sometimes visits from Oz.
How do you feel about Fred Lewis? Do you respect him because of his military service, or does he make you cringe because he sucks at gold mining? Has “Dozer” Dave Turin really retired for good? How is Fred Hurt’s medical condition? We will be looking to bring you updates on these topics and a lot more.
It all started in 2010 when Todd Hoffman and five of his buddies from Sandy, Oregon gambled big on a placer gold mining excursion to Porcupine Creek, Alaska, and ended with 14.64 ounces of gold. At least that was when the television series first got going. Shawn Pomrenke has been gold mining in Nome since 1989 (eight years before Tyler Mahoney was born), and his father, Steve was at it much earlier, but there were no TV producers getting in their way back then.
